On this route I want to speak poetry, here you can feel the soul of Germany! You will open the father Rhine with its banks, then picturesquely twined vineyards, then almost sheer, where the tops of the rocks are silent old castles, storing the secrets and dramas of national history. Here Heine and Wagner drew their inspiration, creating immortal creations. As if the Wagnerian leitmotifs and the dangerous song of the treacherous water siren Lorelei are heard ...
You can visit the Knights Castle of Marsburg, admire the enchanting panorama of the "German corner" and stroll through Rudesheim - a fun wine capital.
These are unique places, covered with legends, myths and legends. This journey is not only in Germany, but also in time. Are you ready for the trip with Kompass?
Departure is in the morning. Departure time depends on the city of departure and is reported when ordering a trip.
Throughout a trip to Rudesheim you observe more than 20 castles. All this with the story of our guide about the colourful places and nice history of each of castle.
Our travel begins with the territory of the federal land Northern Rhine-Westphalia, then it smoothly flows on the territory of the federal Land of Rhineland-Palatinate and comes to the end in Rudesheim at Rhein - it is the federal Land of Hessen. Germany went through the different periods in its history: Romans, francs, feudal dissociation, wars and revolutions, Napoleonic invasion and Prussian kings... And through all the centuries, despite all events, rapid Rhine bore its waters, calming down or threatening with floods.
The guide will tell you about everything, and you will have a unique opportunity to visit the medieval castle Marksburg. You‘ll get know how people lived there in the Middle Ages, what they ate, drank and how holidays and weekdays spent, even how they planned a sex of future child! You will visit the hall of knightly arms, a wine cellar, castle kitchen and... torment.
After visiting the Marksburg we go to the city of St Goarshausen to continue our travel by ship. You will see legendary Lorelei Rock, fantastic ancient castles and magnificent panoramas. And also the Roman military station Oberwesel, the famous Katz and Rheinfels Castles, the castle on the water Pfalz and a monument to the Prussian field marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher in Kaub will become objects of your attention.
After our trip by boat and short moving you will appear in Mecca of the Rhine pilgrims, the wine capital of Germany - Rudesheim. Tasting wines, pork legs, fried on a grill, with mashed potatoes and "sour cabbage"*, walking along the famous Drosselgasse – all this expects you in the fantastic half-timbered town Rudesheim.
