This romantic city is located in the heart of the Moselle Valley and if you walk along its embankment, you will see its surprising beauty, which harmoniously combines a mountain landscape and a smooth surface of the river. The lively historic center of Cochem is decorated by the well saved half-timbered houses, the oldest part of Catholic church parish of St Martin's Church dated 15th century, seven city gates are saved from the former city strengthening, constructed in the 14th century, Carlfritz-Nicolay Square in the downtown, the market square with a baroque town hall and the fountain... Your camera won't know a rest!
Reichsburg Cochem. History of this castle is inseparably connected with the history of Cochem. Being not simply the castle, but a real fortress, it stands indestructibly at the height of 100 meters and always dominated in old times over the main way connecting Germany and France. Despite the thousand-year history, this "grandfather" looks as well as during the time of the youth, and you will get know about all the secrets and legends from our magnificent guide.
Going down the river, we will continue our travel by a comfortable motor ship. The landscape on Moselle riverbanks is considered one of the most beautiful romantic places in Germany since the time of Romans and, perhaps, even in Europe . It awarded Moselle's region with many ranks: "The oldest wine-making region of Germany", "the most popular vacation spot", "the most beautiful river landscape to the north of the Alps"...
